Between October and April come for a swim in the iconic Empress Canyon!

The first part of the day is focused on acquiring abseiling skills- we start with several short practice abseils and then move up to some higher challenges- the introductory abseiling session is an exciting adventure in its own right!

After lunch we’ll test our new skills with a trip through Empress Canyon. The journey takes us deep inside the sandstone cliff, wading, scrambling, swimming and jumping into pools! We will complete our canyon journey with a thrilling waterfall abseil down Empress Falls.

From here we hike back to the bus and take in some of the most impressive views to be found anywhere in the Blue Mountains along the way!

• Swimwear (to save time, be wearing these under your clothes when you arrive)
• Sneakers (old or new doesn’t matter, but they will get wet and sandy!)
• Socks (without socks that sand will give you blisters)
• Comfortable shorts or long pants
• T-Shirt or Long sleeve shirt (sun protection is your choice!)
• A synthetic or woollen fleece jumper (no cotton – It does not insulate when wet!)
• Rain jacket (Even if the weather is good- This layer is great at keeping you warm!)

A set of spare clothing & shoes for the trip home may be useful. These can be kept safe in our lockers for the duration of your canyon trip.
