ASM offers two options for those wishing to climb to the summit of Mt Kosciuszko:
The first is a 3-day expedition-style ascent, where you will travel with highly experienced ASM guides to our alpine basecamp to prepare for the climb. As part of the preparation, you will receive training in winter survival, snow camping, and safety skills. The summit ascent will be undertaken on snowshoes, with ASM instructors providing guidance on their safe and efficient use during short acclimatisation walks. An early alpine start will be required to maximise the chances of success, as the round trip to the summit and back involves approximately 16 km of alpine trekking.
The second option is a single-day ascent for those who are short on time or prefer not to stay overnight on the snow. This trip utilizes the ski lifts at Thredbo, allowing us to reach the summit of Mt Kosciusko and return in a single day with the guidance of ASM’s experienced instructors.
ASM does not offer set dates for the Kosciuszko ascent. Instead, we work closely with our clients to organise trips that suit their schedules and preferences. Whether you’re planning a 3-day expedition or a single-day ascent, our team will tailor the experience to align with your availability and goals, ensuring a personalised and flexible adventure.
